Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Contracts Administrator / Contracts Engineer to manage, review, and administer construction contracts throughout the project lifecycle. The role will ensure contractual obligations are properly managed, project risks are minimized, and all contractual documentation and communications comply with legal, company, and project requirements.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in construction contract administration and a good working knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or other standard/bespoke contract forms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and reviewing tender documents, contract terms, conditions, and related commercial documentation.
  • Coordinate with estimators and project managers to ensure project scope, pricing, and contractual requirements are aligned.
  • Participate in contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Administer construction contracts in accordance with FIDIC, NEC, JCT, or bespoke contract conditions.
  • Monitor key contractual milestones, deliverables, payment terms, completion dates, and other obligations.
  • Prepare and manage contractual correspondence, including notices, claims, extensions of time, variations, and other contractual submissions.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of contracts, correspondence, notices, claims, approvals, and project documentation.
  • Support project teams in ensuring contractual compliance and managing potential disputes.
  • Review and assess subcontractor claims, variations, and applications for payment.
  • Liaise with legal advisors on complex contractual matters and potential disputes when required.
  • Identify contractual risks and support the project team in implementing appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Assist with the preparation, negotiation, and settlement of final accounts.
  • Support contract close-out activities and ensure all contractual obligations are properly completed.
  • Provide contractual guidance to project teams and assist with interpretation of contract provisions.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Law, or a related discipline.
  • 3–7 years of experience in contract administration or contract management within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience working with FIDIC, JCT, NEC, or similar standard construction contracts.
  • Experience in large-scale infrastructure, building, or civil construction projects is preferred.
  • Good understanding of construction contracts, contract law, claims, variations, and contractual procedures.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and risk management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation management.
  • Ability to work effectively with project managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, clients, subcontractors, and legal advisors.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Aconex, Procore, or other contract/project management systems is an advantage.
